This paper develops a high time-resolution optimal power generation mix model in its time resolution of 10 minutes on 365 days by linear programming technique. The model allows us to analyse the massive deployment of photovoltaic system and wind power generation in power system explicitly considering those short-term output variation. PV (photovoltaic) and wind output are estimated, employing meteorological database. Simulation results reveal that variable fluctuation derived from a high penetration level of those renewables is controlled by quick load following operation of natural gas combined cycle power plant, pumped-storage hydro power, stationary NAS (sodium and sulfur) battery and the output suppression control of PV and wind. It additionally turns out that the operational configuration of those technologies for the renewable variability differs significantly depending on those renewable output variations in each season and solving the seasonal electricity imbalance as well as the daily imbalance is important if variable renewables are massively deployed. 相似文献

A numerical study has been carried out to investigate the effect of aspect ratio on heat transfer by natural convection of nanofluid taking Cu nano particles and the water as based fluid. The flow is laminar, steady state, axisymmetric two-dimensional in a vertical cylindrical channel filled with porous media. Heat is generated uniformly along the center of the channel with its vertical surface remain with cooled constant wall temperature and insulated horizontal top and bottom surfaces. The governing equations which used are continuity, momentum and energy equations using Darcy law and Boussinesq's approximation which are transformed to dimensionless equations. The finite difference approach is used to obtain all the computational results using the MATLAB-7 program. The parameters affected on the system are Rayleigh number ranging within (10≤ Ra ≤ 103), aspect ratio (1 ≤ As 〈 5) and the volume fraction (0 ≤0 〈 0.2). The results obtained are presented graphically in the form of streamline and isotherm contour plots and the results show that as ~ increase from 0.01 to 0.2 the value of the mean Nusselt number increase 50.4% for Ra = 1,000. 相似文献

Organic salt crystals, e.g. DAST, OH1, and DSTMS, pumped by ultra-short infrared laser are efficient THz emitters. We review our latest results on the generation in organic crystals of THz single-cycle transients with field strength of 1.5?MV/cm. The energy conversion reaches 2% with photon conversion efficiency up to 200%. THz radiation produced in such crystals offers excellent beam propagation properties and can be focused down to diffraction limited spot size in order to realize the highest field. This source covers the full spectral range between 0.1 and 10?THz. Further, we discuss the possibility to control the absolute phase and the polarity of the THz field. 相似文献

By numerically solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for helium gas in a special two-color laser field, which is synthesized by a long (9?fs) driving pulse and a short (6?fs) controlling pulse, we discuss the influence of the carrier-envelope phase, frequency, and the intensity of the controlling pulse on the generation of harmonic spectra and isolated attosecond pluses. In the cutoff region, two or three plateaus can be controlled by optimizing these laser parameters, and an ultrabroad supercontinuum harmonic spectrum with a bandwidth of 800?eV can be produced, which can support an ultrashort isolated 4.5 as pulse generation by Fourier transformation. A photonic microwave signal generation scheme with frequency octupling is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The scheme is based on bi-directional use of a dual-parallel Mach–Zehnder modulator (DPMZM) in a Sagnac loop. The two sub-modulators in the DPMZM are driven by two low-frequency signals with a π/2 phase difference, and the dc biases of the modulator are all set at the maximum transmission points. Due to the velocity mismatch of the modulator, only the light wave along the clockwise direction is effectively modulated by the drive signals to generate an optical signal with a carrier and ±4th order sidebands, while the modulation of the light wave along the counterclockwise direction is far less effective and can be ignored. By properly adjusting the polarization of the light wave output from the Sagnac loop, the optical carrier can be significantly suppressed at a polarizer, and then an optical signal with only ±4th order sidebands is generated. In the experiment, a pure 24-GHz microwave signal without additional phase noise from the optical system is generated using a 3-GHz local oscillator signal. AbstractWe numerically demonstrate mid-infrared supercontinuum generation in a non-uniformly tapered chalcogenide planar waveguide. This planar rib waveguide of As2S3 glass on MgF2 is 2 cm long with increasing etch depth longitudinally to manage the total dispersion. This waveguide has zero dispersion at two wavelengths. The dispersion profile varies along the propagation distance, leading to continuous modification of the phase-matching condition for dispersive wave emission and enhancement of energy transfer efficiency between solitons and dispersive waves. Numerical simulations are conducted for secant input pulses at a wavelength of 1.55 μm with a width of 50 fs and peak power of 2 kW. Results show this proposed scheme significantly broadens the generated continuum, extending from ~1 to ~7 μm. 相似文献

In this paper, we study broadband second harmonic generation (SHG) in an imperfect nonlinear photonic crystal in which defects are introduced with random lengths. We show that the efficient SHG output is obtained when the length of each defect varies near certain specialized values. The bandwidth of the SHG output broadens with the increasing randomness of defect length. Moreover, the SHG bandwidth is nearly unaffected only when the total length of the whole structure is long enough. The disordered structure also exhibits good tolerance to the fabrication error, which provides a way to control SHG intensity and bandwidth separately. 相似文献

Conventional algorithms for tool path generation from measured points do not use multi-resolution and region-by-region strategies, the advantages of which have been demonstrated, to generate region-by-region tool paths. This paper presents a new strategy for generating tool paths from measured points directly by using multi-resolution and region-by-region strategies. Given a set of measured points, for rough-cuts we select a fewer number of measured points than control points to construct a coarse B-spline surface and then generate rough-cut tool paths.
